When one thinks of Miley Cyrus, we often think of a rebellious Disney star turned badass rock chick. However, that’s not entirely the case.

“Everybody thinks Miley is like this wild thing…” said Tish Cyrus, mother of the pop-rock star on the Chicks in the Office podcast. “First of all, Miley doesn’t even smoke pot anymore. She smokes CBD only. She doesn’t drink. She’s the cleanest person I know. She’s like, she’s just so solid.”

Miley has been in the public eye her whole life, especially during her teenage years when she began indulging in some pot and TMZ got a hold of the footage. She’d had quite the on-and-off-again relationship with cannabis, which has been in the ‘off’ stage since her vocal cord surgery in November of 2019.

During Miley’s prime cannabis era, she couldn’t help but enlighten her mother Tish on the benefits that weed has to offer. Tish Cyrus had trouble sleeping when on tour with Miley, which is where her daughter suggested that weed might help.

“Someone gave me an Ambien, and it made me feel terrible,” Tish explained on the podcast. “So Miley said, ‘I’m telling you, Mom. That’s a chemical. Why are you willing to put that in your body, but you’re not willing to smoke weed, which is natural?’ She said, ‘Mom, just come in the bathroom. Just sit right here. No one is going to know.'”

She hesitantly accepted only because they were alone; they headed into the bathroom and closed the door. “I took one puff, and Miley opened the bathroom door. Her entire band was standing in the door. And Miley’s like, ‘Mom’s smoking pot!'”
